Boards

1. The top and bottom boards of the EPAL CP pallets must be between 18 and 20 mm thick, the cross boards 22 and 24 mm thick.
2. There must be no tree edges on the cross boards.
3. Poplar wood must not be used for the transverse boards.

Nail pattern

1. The position of the 60 nails used is specified so that the diagonal rigidity of the pallet is guaranteed.
2. The nail pattern must be even and recurring. 
3. The nails must have the greatest possible distance from one another and at least 20 mm from the component edges within the framework of the building standard.
4. All nails that are used to assemble EPAL Euro pallets are labeled with a head consisting of two letters.
5. Only nails approved by EPAL that have also been checked by a neutral testing institute may be used to assemble EPAL Euro pallets.
